Wednesday 6 October - Michelin Championship at Las Vegas
We have been in Vegas for quite a few days, enjoying
the sites and sounds of this crazy city. With no electricity
at our home in Florida, following the hurricanes, there wasn't
much to do down there, except sit and wait. The golf courses
were also hit hard, so I had nowhere to practice. Our house
survived and we were definitely lucky compared with some people.
This week has now been altered to a 4 round event (it has
been 5 rounds in previous years). There are still 3 courses
in the rota and I am playing Bear's Best at 1.10 on Thursday.
Friday I play TPC at the Canyons and then on Saturday its
on to TPC Summerlin. I have had the chance to practice at
all 3 and my hip feels a little better. Jill and I have had
the opportunity to see a couple of great shows, including
Celine Dion, who is a terrific performer. I'll post my update
after round one. See you then, Per
Thursday 7 October - Michelin Championship at Las Vegas -
68 (-4)
A solid days work at Bear's Best, the golf course
named for designer, Jack Nicklaus. I was off right at the
end of the field and played with a fun group of 3 amateurs.
This event is played in pro-am format, so whilst being a serious
TOUR event we also have the opportunity to play a friendly
four ball. I was out in level par 36 , before getting going
on the back nine with a birdie on 10 and an eagle at the par
5, 12th. I bogied 14, but hit back with a pair of birdies
on 17 and 18 to shoot 32 and a score of 68. It's always nice
to finish a long day that way before dinner! This score puts
me in the top half of the field and with 2 rounds to go I
need to keep making birdies. I think we will relax tonight
as I have an early start tomorrow. Catch up later, Per

I am back in West Palm after our trip to Vegas. I really didn't
play as badly as the scores suggest. My putting in round 3
was poor, although I actually hit the ball okay. I was certainly
hoping to be playing on Sunday after round 1 (it is a 3 round
cut here as the event is played over 3 courses) Jill, Stella
and I headed back to West Palm and finally, some heat and
light in our house on Sunday. I am 14th reserve for Greensboro,
so that is looking unlikely. I will let you know if the situation
changes. Catch up later, Per
Thursday 14 October - Chrysler Classic of Greensboro
- 73 ( +1)
Surprise, surprise! I am here in Greensboro after moving from
14th reserve on Monday to making it into the field on Wednesday.
I rushed up here from Florida to have time for a practice
round. Unfortunately, today my putting was off and I couldn't
make a thing. The result was a 73 and I need to make a big
move to be around in North Carolina for the weekend. Starting
from the 10th I made a birdie at the par 5, 13th, before dropping
one on 17 to be out in level par. I salvaged a birdie on the
9th (my 18th) to get back in one over after bogeys on 2 and
7. I hope the putter at least warms up on Friday - 33 putts
isn't going to do it! Catch up after my round tomorrow afternoon.
Bye for now, Per
Friday 15 October - Chrysler Classic of Greensboro
- 76 ( +4)
A disappointing finish to my week with a 76. This missed the
cut by quite a few shots and I was a "trunk slammer"
after the round! ( this is the name given to guys who miss
the cut). I am now back in West Palm and my TOUR year is over
as far as events go. I will be at TOUR school in about 6 weeks
and have to get my game in shape for the 6 rounds in La Quinta.
I have a great practice facility at the Medalist and now that
the hurricane season is finally over I hope to be spending
some quality time there. I will be doing a daily diary from
the Q School and will keep the diary updated with my progress
over the coming weeks. Catch up soon, Per
